The project originated from the need to verify in a social housing complex the static resistance of the structures and the dimensional updating and energy re-qualification of the residences. The project wishes to evoke urban growth as produced by time: the new architecture superposed on the old one, in a sense protecting it. The image that derives is a superposition of structures, volumes, pathways and materials, in which the new ‘completes’ the old, identifying ‘new’ building modules, ‘new’ roles and ‘new’ functions.
